Production ramps up at Reader
Commissioning complete
In May we reported that line one of our multi-million pound cement products investment had been commissioned and the first load had left our new site at Pinxton. Since then, the second line has been commissioned and both the cement packing and blended product lines are now operational and delivering product.
New Reader facility Pinxton, Nottinghamshire where both cement blending and packing lines are now in full production
2000 tonnes per week
Logistics and systems are being tested and production has been steadily ramping up over the summer. Last week Reader produced almost 2,000 tonnes of packed cement and blended product for their customers, working single extended shifts.
Jason Key, Operations Manager:
"Since May we have been steadily working through the teething problems that are to be expected with a plant such as this. One by one they are being ticked off and the plant is now coming up to optimum efficiency."
A further two lines are planned to come on stream next year.
